On the basis of Imjeungjinamuian(ìúñûò¦Ñõì¢äÐ), authors investigated the pathogenesis and treatment of ophthalmotolaryngobgic diseases from the viewpoint of Onbyeong(è®Ü»). 1. The symptoms and diseases investigated according to department were as follows;. 1) Ophthalmology : blepharitis, blepharedema, lacrimal hypersecretion, hyperemia, ophthalmalgla, photopsia, visual disturbance, mydriasis 2) Otology : full-feeling, otorrhea, otalgla, mastoiditis, tinnitus, hearing disturbance, vertigo 3) Rhinology : rhinorrhea, nasal obstruction, sinusitis, epistaxis 4) Laryngology : sore throat, hoarseness 5) The Others : headache, cough, asthma 2. The pathogenesis and treatment of ophthalmotolaryngologic diseases were as follows. 1) When the pathogenesis of hyperemia, otorrhea, otalgia, mastoiditis, hearing disturhance. epistaxis, sore throat, headache and cough are wind-stagnanc(ù¦ê¦), wind-warm(ù¦è®), wind-fire(ù¦ûý), wind-dryness(ù¦ðÏ), dryness-heat(ðÏæð), the treatment of pungent-cool-evaporating(ãôÕØú°øú) with Dajosan(Òþðàߤ), Mori Folium(ßÍç¨), Lonicerae Flos(ÐÝëÞü£), Forsythiae Fructus(ææÎî), Viticis Fructus(ØÀûªí), Prunellae Spica(ù¾Í½õ®), Arctii Fructus(éÚÛ¼í), etc can be applied. 2) When the pathogenesis of hoarseness, cough and asthma are cold(ùÎ), cold with endogenous heat(ùÎøÐæð, èâÒ²Ò®æð), water retention(â©Þ÷), fluid retention(ÜÑëæ), impairment of YangKi by overexertion(Ҿ߿åÕѨ), the treatment of pungent-warm-evaporating(ãôè®ú°øú) with Mahaenggamseoktang(Ø«úºÊöà´÷·), Socheongryongtang(á³ôìéÌ÷·), Jeongryeokdaejosapyetang(Á¤·Â´ëÁ¶»çÆóÅÁ), Gyejitang(Ìýò«÷·), Armeniacae Amarum Semen(úºìÒ), etc can be applied. 3) When the pathogenesis of photopsia, otorrhea, otalgia, rhinorrhea, sinusitis, epistaxis, sore throat, hoarseness, headache and cough are stagnancy-induced heat(ê¦æð), wind-dryness(ù¦ðÏ), wind-heat(ù¦æð), summer heat(ßôæð), summer wind(ßôù¦), insidious summer heat(ÜÑßô), autumn heat(õÕßô), autumn wind(õÕù¦), autumn dryness(õÕðÏ), dryness-heat(ðÏæð), heat in Ki system(ѨÝÂæð), insidious warm(è®ÜÑ), brain discharge by fire in Ki system(Ѩûý Òàæð), heat in stomach(êÖæð), endogenous fire by deficiency of Yin(ëäúÈÒ®ûý), deficiency of Yin in stomach(êÖëäúÈ), the treatment of Ki-cooling(ôèѨ) with Bangpungtongseongsan(ÛÁù¦÷×á¡ß¤), Ikweonsan(ìÌêªß¤), Gyejibaekhotang(Ìýò«ÛÜûÛ÷·), Geumgwemaekmundongtang(±Ý±Ë¸Æ¹®µ¿ÅÁ), Gyeongokgo(Ìáè¬ÍÇ), Sojae Semen Praeparatum(µÎ½Ã), Scutellariae Radix(üÜÐÙ), Phyllostachys Folium(ñÓç¨), Adenophorae Radix(ÞÞß³), Mori Cortex(ßÍÛÜù«), Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus(ø¯Ù½), etc can be applied. 4) When the pathogenesis of blepharitis, hyperemia, ophthalmalgia, full-feeling, otorrhea, otalgia, tinnitus, hearing disturbance, sinusitis, hoarseness, headache and cough are fire in liver(ÊÜûý), fire in gallbladder(ÓÅûý), ministerial fire in Soyang system(á´åÕßÓûý), wind-stagnancy(ù¦ê¦), stagnancy-induced fire(ê¦ûý), brain discharge by phlegm-fire(ÓÃûý Òàæð), the treatment of mediation(ûúú°) with Gardeniae Fructus(ö¼í), Moutan Cortex(ÙÌÓ¡ù«), Saigae Tataricae Cornu(Ö¾åÏÊÇ), Artemisiae Annuae Herba(ôìûÚ), Cyperi Rhizoma(úÅݾí), Poria(Àûº¹·É), etc can be applied. 5) When the pathogenesis of blepharedema and cough are dampness in both spleen and lung(Þ¡øËã¥) damp-heat(ã¥æð), damp-phlegm(ã¥ÓÃ), the treatment of dampness-resolving(ûùã¥) with Poria(¹éº¹·É), Coicis Semen(ëûì¾ìÒ), Tetrapanacis Medulla(÷×õ®), Armeniacae Amarum Semen(úºìÒ), Talcum(Íèà´), etc can be applied. 6) When the pathogenesis of vertigo and cough are deficiency of Yong(ç½úÈ), heat in Yong, system(ç½æð), the treatment of Yong-cooling(ôèç½) with Rehmanniae Radix(ßæò¢üÜ), Liriopis Tuber(ØêÚ¦ÔÏ), Biotae Semen(ÛÚíìÒ), Lilii Bulbus(ÛÝùê), Phyllostachys Folium(ñÓç¨), etc can be applied. 7) When the pathogenesis of epistaxis are heat in blood system of heart(ãýúìæð), reversed flow of fire(ûýß¾æ½), overexertion(Ò½Õô), the treatment of blood-cooling(ÕØúì) with Rhinoceri Cornu(ßùÊÇ), Rehmanniae Radix(ßæò¢üÜ), Moutan Cortex(ÙÌÓ¡ù«), Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix(Ó¡ß³), Scrophulariae Radix(úÜ߸), etc can be applied. 8) When the pathogenesis of nasal obstruction is pathogen-stagnancy(Þ÷ê¦), the treatment of resuscitation(ËÒЫ) with Sosang(á´ßÂ, LU11) acupuncture can be applied. When the pathogenesis of headache is stasis of both Ki and blood, the treatment of resuscitation with Cnidii Rhizoma, Asari Herba Cum Radiced, Scoria, moxibustion, etc can be applied.
